1. Aims and Scope
The Journal of Emerging and Innovative Technologies (JEIT) is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal published by Qassim University. JEIT publishes original research articles, technical reports, prototype studies, review articles, case studies, and short communications in the fields of advanced engineering, computer science, and applied technologies.
JEIT considers articles covering: Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Internet of Things (AIoT), Innovative Engineering Solutions, Renewable Energy and Sustainability, Environmental Technologies, Robotics and Automation, Advanced Manufacturing, Industry 4.0, Computer Science, Smart Cities, Cybersecurity, Blockchain, and AI Ethics.
2. Article Types
Original investigations presenting novel findings, experiments, or models in emerging technologies and engineering fields.
Comprehensive reviews synthesizing current knowledge on specific topics in technology and engineering, including systematic reviews and meta-analyses.
Detailed reports on technical implementations, prototypes, systems, or applied solutions with documented performance metrics and validation results.
In-depth analyses of real-world technology implementations, innovative solutions, or industry applications with measurable outcomes.
Brief reports of significant preliminary findings, novel methods, or timely technological breakthroughs requiring rapid dissemination.
Commentaries on published JEIT articles or brief reports of novel findings relevant to the journal scope.
3. Manuscript Preparation
3.1 General Formatting
- Font: Times New Roman, 12pt throughout
- Line spacing: 1.5 throughout the entire manuscript
- File format: Microsoft Word (.docx)
- Units: Use SI units (encouraged)
- Decimals: Use a zero before decimal points (e.g., 0.25, not .25)
- Language: English or Arabic (both accepted)
3.2 Manuscript Structure
- Title: Concise and informative, Times New Roman 14pt bold
- Authors: Full names, affiliations, emails, and ORCID if available
- Abstract: Structured, maximum 250 words. Include: Background, Methods, Results, Conclusion
- Keywords: 3–6 keywords relevant to the article
- Introduction: Context, problem statement, objectives, and contributions
- Methodology: Detailed and reproducible methods, tools, datasets, and frameworks used
- Results: Clear presentation with figures, tables, and statistical analysis
- Discussion: Interpretation, comparison with existing work, limitations, future directions
- Conclusion: Summary of key findings and practical implications
- Acknowledgment: Funding, institutional support, and contributions
- References: Numbered consecutively in square brackets
3.3 Figures and Tables
- Insert figures and tables centered on the page after they are cited in the text
- Figure captions: placed below the figure, 10pt Times New Roman
- Table headings: placed above the table, 10pt Times New Roman
- Tables must not be split over two pages
- Minimum figure resolution: 300 DPI
- Preferred formats: PNG, TIFF, or JPEG
3.4 Code and Data Availability
- Authors are encouraged to share source code, datasets, and models via public repositories (e.g., GitHub, Zenodo, Kaggle)
- Provide repository links and DOIs where available
- Any restrictions on data sharing must be disclosed at submission
3.5 References
- Number citations consecutively in square brackets: [1] or [2,3] or [4–6]
- Sentence punctuation follows the bracket
- Use IEEE reference style
- Unpublished papers: cite as "unpublished"
- Accepted papers: cite as "in press"
Journal Article: A. Author, B. Author, "Title of article," Journal Name, vol. X, no. X, pp. XX–XX, Year.
Conference Paper: A. Author, "Title," in Proc. Conf. Name, City, Year, pp. XX–XX.

4. Ethical Requirements
4.1 AI Use Policy
JEIT follows ICMJE policies on AI use. Generative AI tools may assist in writing clarity and language accuracy. However: (1) AI tools cannot be listed as authors; (2) AI-generated figures or data are not permitted without full disclosure; (3) Authors must declare any AI tool used in manuscript preparation.
4.2 Research Ethics
Research involving human subjects must comply with the Declaration of Helsinki and have IRB approval. Studies involving sensitive data must follow applicable privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR). Authors must disclose any potential ethical concerns related to their research.
4.3 Authorship and Copyright
All manuscripts must comply with ICMJE authorship criteria. Each author's contribution must be clearly stated. JEIT is published under CC BY 4.0. All authors must sign the Copyright Agreement Form prior to publication.
4.4 Conflict of Interest
Authors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest. If none exist, include the statement: "The authors declare no conflicts of interest."
5. Submission
Manuscripts must be submitted through the JEIT online submission system. Required files at submission:
- Manuscript file (.docx) — complete manuscript
- Cover letter — confirming originality and no dual submission
- Figures — high resolution, minimum 300 DPI, separate files
- Code/Data links — repository URLs if applicable
- Supplementary files — if applicable
6. Editorial Process
- Pre-Check (1 week): Screening for scope, plagiarism, formatting, and ethical compliance
- Peer Review (2–4 weeks): Double-blind review by 2 or more independent experts
- Editorial Decision: Accept / Minor Revision / Major Revision / Reject
- Author Revision: Point-by-point response letter with revised manuscript
- Production: Copyediting, typesetting, DOI assignment
- Publication: Open access — freely available immediately upon publication
7. After Publication
Authors retain copyright under CC BY 4.0. Corrections are published separately when errors do not invalidate the study. Retractions are issued if scientific integrity is substantially compromised. Author names cannot be modified after publication. Formal appeals may be submitted with detailed point-by-point arguments.
